Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Engineer Mechanical for Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA. The role focuses on integrating and testing flight hardware, coordinating with program management, systems engineering, and design teams to ensure first‑time quality in producible designs.

The position requires extensive mechanical experience with space hardware, testing methods, and a Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph. In person work at Space Park with periodic travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in STEM with 10/8+ years engineering experience.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary ITL or manufacturing environments.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and leadership for high‑demand programs.
• Excellent written/oral communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Own procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing and delivery for work packages.
• Design tests to verify system requirements.
• Drive producibility in all phases of the work package.
• Develop detailed mechanical integration and test procedures for technicians.
• Document and remedy test anomalies and hardware non-conformances.
• Coordinate across disciplines to define operations and achieve efficiency.
• Operate in a complex restricted production environment protecting program interests.
