Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to support the Sentinel Program in Roy, UT. You will lead hardware design, selection, integration, and release for wing operations and physical security, with about 80% hands-on engineering and 20% leadership.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, a Secret clearance, and hands-on use of CPLM tools. You will mentor engineers and contribute to design reviews and program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree in a STEM field with 6 years of related experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Siemens Teamcenter.
• Experience translating requirements into mechanical design solutions.
• Experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 and Y14.24.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of hardware solutions for Command Systems Wing Operations and Physical Security.
• Roles include ~80% direct technical contribution and ~20% functional leadership for a mechanical engineering homeroom.
• Mature hardware baseline with cross-functional stakeholders and ensure high-quality design documentation in CPLM tools.
• Support engineering release activities and ensure producible designs.
• Provide mentorship and development guidance to engineers.
