Job summary

EVEREC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a technically demanding programme focused on high‑power electrical equipment, switchgear enclosures and thermal systems. The role is predominantly remote with site travel as needed, offering a six‑month contract.

You will lead mechanical design, develop cooling solutions and work closely with electrical engineers to ensure robust packaging and integration across the complete system.

Qualifications

• Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong switchgear enclosure design experience
• Thermal management and air‑handling expertise for high‑power electrical equipment
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced engineering programme
• Experience from concept through manufacture and integration

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for high‑power equipment and enclosures
• Design switchgear cabinets, electrical enclosures and equipment housings
• Develop thermal management and cooling solutions for high‑power systems
• Design air‑handling, ventilation and airflow systems
• Perform mechanical and thermal calculations for design decisions and component selection
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure packaging, clearances and integration
• Produce and maintain drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Support prototype build, integration, testing and commissioning
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners
• Ensure manufacturability, serviceability and adherence to standards
