Job summary

Agile Space Industries is a growing propulsion hardware and engineering services provider seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Seattle, WA or Durango, CO. The role focuses on designing, prototyping, and producing advanced rocket engines and propulsion systems.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams, perform thermal and structural analyses, and participate in manufacturing processes while contributing to rapid growth and a stock option plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proven experience presenting to customers during design reviews.
• Strong background applying mechanics of materials and fluid engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop components and assemblies for chemical rocket systems, including concept creation and CAD management.
• Lead and coordinate design review sessions with cross-functional teams.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analysis (hand calculations).
• Oversee vendor selection and transition to operations.
• Develop detailed work instructions for assembly, testing, and integration.
• Engage in hands-on hardware assembly, testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• Identify risk mitigation strategies throughout development.
