Job summary

Eight Sleep, based in San Francisco, seeks a senior leader to drive the mechanical/product design engineering team. You will oversee development of the Pod and a bold product roadmap, coordinating with cross-functional partners to drive concepts to production and ensure exceptional hardware performance and user experience.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on execution, and collaboration across electrical, software, sensing, operations, marketing, and finance to deliver high-impact products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical systems (consumer electronics, automotive, or medical devices).
• 2+ years directly managing mechanical and product design engineers.
• Deep knowledge of injection molding, electronics/sensor integration, and mechanism design.
• Experience scaling products to high volume production in Asia; GD&T and tolerance analysis are assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of mechanical engineering across the full development cycle.
• Shape and execute the hardware product roadmap with stakeholders across the company.
• Grow and manage a world-class engineering team.
