Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical or electromechanical design experience in a professional setting.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on fabrication and rapid-prototyping skills.
• 3D CAD proficiency and the ability to apply GD&T to produce high-quality engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the mechanical design of ruggedized, vehicle-based subsystems from concept to production.
• Apply first-principles engineering and physics to design decisions.
• Build and test prototypes of electromechanical systems and iterate based on results.
• Lead design reviews, conduct analyses, visit vendors, prototype and implement hardware test plans.
• Balance operational needs across vehicle subsystems for speed, mass, manufacturability and cost.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and mechanical teams to form a reliable system.
• Contribute to a positive, energetic team environment.
• Support hardware demonstrations and field events with customers and partners.
• Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.
