Job summary

AutoStore System Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Integration & Applications to help partners and customers adopt our robotic piece‑picking solutions.

You will serve as the technical expert on guarding, mounting, and integration with conveyors and controls, guiding installations from design to field. You will create CAD layouts and drawings, review partner designs, and collaborate with Documentation, Product, and Electrical/Controls teams to publish guidelines and ensure safe,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, automation, material handling or machine integration.
• Familiarity with safety technologies for robot work cells (guarding, light curtains, safety PLCs/relays).
• Mechanical design skills in 3D CAD for robot cell layouts, guarding and mounting structures.
• Experience with conveyors and material handling equipment.
• Understanding of load paths, anchoring, vibration and mezzanine interfaces.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contact for partners and integrators adapting AutoStore products to customer processes.
• Assess structural and mounting needs for robotic equipment including mezzanines and platforms.
• Publish integration guidelines, installation requirements, and partner-facing artifacts.
• Create CAD layouts, 3D models, and drawings of robot cells and guarding.
• Review partner designs and provide actionable feedback.
• Support integration with conveyors and controls interfaces, including PLC logic and I/O.
• Feed field learnings back to Product and Engineering for improvements.
• Manage multiple partner projects prioritizing impact and timelines.
• Perform core mechanical engineering work: design, prototyping, testing, RCA.
• 10% travel to customer sites.
