Job summary

AutoStore™ in Atlanta is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Integration & Applications to help partners and customers adopt our robotic piece-picking solutions. You will act as the technical expert on guarding, safety, and mounting, with hands-on work at customer sites and in design reviews.

You will create CAD layouts, review designs, support conveyors and controls interfaces, and manage multiple partner projects, traveling about 10% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, automation, material handling or machine integration.
• Familiarity with safety technologies for robotic work cells (guarding, interlocked doors, light curtains, safety mats).
• Mechanical design in 3D CAD for robot cell layouts, guarding and mounting structures.
• Experience with conveyors and material handling equipment.
• Understanding load paths, anchoring, vibration, and mezzanine interfaces.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization and follow-through.
• Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical point of contact for partners and system integrators adapting AutoStore products to customer processes.
• Assess structural and mounting needs for robotic equipment on mezzanines and platforms.
• Define and publish integration guidelines and installation requirements with Documentation.
• Create CAD layouts, 3D models and drawings of robot cells and guarding.
• Review partner designs and provide actionable feedback.
• Support integration with conveyors and controls interfaces, including PLC safety I/O.
• Feed field learnings back to Product and Engineering for improvements.
• Manage multiple partner projects prioritizing by customer impact.
