Job summary

AutoStore is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Integration & Applications in Atlanta to drive integration of robotic piece-picking solutions with partners and customers. You will lead mechanical design, guarding, and mounting strategies for robot cells and work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, scalable deployments.

You will assess installations on mezzanines and platforms, publish guidelines, create CAD layouts, review partner designs, and support conveyors and controls

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in robotics, automation or machine integration.
• Knowledge of safety technologies for robotic work cells (guarding, interlocks, safety zones).
• CAD skills for robot cell layouts, guarding and mounting structures.
• Experience with conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Understanding of load paths, anchoring, vibration and mezzanine interfaces.
• Able to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical contact for partners and system integrators adapting AutoStore products to customer processes.
• Assess structural and mounting needs for robotic equipment and guarding strategies.
• Define and publish integration guidelines, installation requirements and partner artifacts.
• Create CAD layouts, 3D models and drawings of robot cells and mounting solutions.
• Review partner designs and provide clear, actionable feedback.
• Support integration with conveyors and controls interfaces, including PLC logic reviews.
• Feed learnings back to Product and Engineering to improve design and docs.
• Manage several partner projects simultaneously, prioritizing by customer impact.
• Perform core mechanical engineering work: design, prototyping, testing, root cause analysis.
• Travel up to 10% to customer sites.
