Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering across capital projects, focusing on district energy, CHP, and utility-scale systems.

You will conceptualize front-end designs, interact with external partners, and ensure technical excellence from design through commissioning. The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical or Mechanical engineering, 5+ years in related design/engineering, and strong thermal systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical or related engineering field.
• 5+ years in design/engineering of power plants and district energy systems.
• PE license is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of district energy, utilities and CHP systems.
• Experience with gas turbines, HRSGs, boilers and chillers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver engineering scope for operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Develop conceptual designs for power, heating, and cooling systems with major equipment selection.
• Review OEM equipment configurations to meet requirements and optimize energy costs.
• Provide technical input for RFIs and evaluate engineering and construction partners.
• Scoping, contracting, and managing consultants/contractors as needed.
• Perform thermal and hydraulic modeling for CHP and district energy assets.
