Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering activities for utility-scale renewables projects across the US and Canada. You will coordinate design efforts with EPC contractors and external consultants, review submittals, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires a BE/CE/ME with 5+ years of renewable energy experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university or comparable technical knowledge
• Five years of experience in renewable energy projects, with ability to produce standards, specifications, and documentation
• Experience in detailed and conceptual design of renewables facilities; electrical background preferred (Substations, P&C, Commissioning, PV, BESS, Wind, SCADA, Transmission); Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Professional Engineer (PE) License and PMI Certification are a plus but not required
• Experience coordinating with project development and construction teams; understanding of commercial contracts and negotiations

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects, coordinate design meetings with Consultants or EPC Contractors, and schedule regular meetings with the project team; monitor progress and milestones
• Provide engineering input at project stages; coordinate design efforts with EPC/external consultants; review submittals and equipment selection with SME support
• Update standards/specifications; manage external firms and subcontractors; identify risks and ensure safety/environmental compliance
• Coordinate with internal teams (Development, Engineering, Operations, Permitting, GIS, Land); assist procurement with RFPs and sub-contractors; support exhibits and professional development
• Stay updated on new technologies and regulations; perform site assessments, design reviews, and due diligence across USA/Canada to support site evaluation, development, and permitting
