Job summary

GH Engage in Los Angeles is seeking a Mechanical Lead to head central plant and district energy projects across the West Coast. You will set design direction, coordinate across disciplines, and partner with project managers on quality, commercial performance and the client relationship.

The role also includes business development—shaping proposals, pursuing opportunities, and presenting at interviews—while mentoring engineers and supporting pursuits for decarbonisation-focused plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• Active US PE licence (required).
• 12+ years designing building HVAC with central plant and hydronic distribution experience.
• Steam systems experience is an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Track record of winning work and long-term client relationships.
• Demonstrated experience leading and growing technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of central heating and cooling plants and large distributed hydronic networks.
• Act as the technical point of contact for clients through design and construction.
• Direct teams producing drawings, specifications, technical reports and client presentations.
• Work with stakeholders and code officials to deliver integrated projects.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels.
• Contribute to pursuits and proposals for decarbonisation-focused plant and district energy work.
