Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support planning, design, and execution of complex pharmaceutical and life sciences capital projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, improve production capacity, and ensure regulatory compliance in GMP environments.

The role involves collaboration across process, validation, quality, automation, and construction teams, with a focus on clean utility systems and facility infrastructure. Travel ~25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PE license or progress toward licensure is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences facility projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering efforts for complex pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing facilities, supporting strategic capital investments.
• Serve as Mechanical Engineering Lead on pharmaceutical and life sciences capital projects from modifications to major expansions.
• Drive project execution through planning, conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and operational readiness.
• Develop engineering solutions for facility systems, clean utility infrastructure, and GMP-regulated environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including validation, quality, automation, and construction to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Travel required approximately 25%.
