Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of complex pharmaceutical and life sciences capital projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve production capacity, regulatory compliance, and startup readiness.

Based on your track record in pharma/biotech facilities, you’ll drive engineering solutions, mentor junior staff, and interface with clients, operations, and validation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PE license or progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences facility projects.
• Significant experience supporting FDA‑regulated and cGMP environments.
• Strong leadership with scope, schedule, budget, and client communication responsibility.
• Experience leading projects from design through startup; CAD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering efforts for pharma/biotech facilities and capital investments.
• Serve as Mechanical Engineering Lead on capital projects from modification to expansions.
• Drive project execution from planning to commissioning and startup readiness.
• Develop process utilities and clean utility infrastructure in GMP environments.
• Collaborate with process, validation, quality, automation, architecture, electrical and construction teams.
• Travel approximately 25%.
