Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering efforts on complex pharmaceutical and life sciences capital projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve capacity, compliance, and operational readiness, while guiding scope, schedule, and budget.

The role requires 10+ years in pharma/life sciences, strong leadership, and experience with FDA-regulated environments. Travel ~25%, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license or progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences facility projects.
• Significant experience supporting FDA-regulated and cGMP manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with multidisciplinary capital projects and client communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering efforts for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences facilities.
• Serve as Mechanical Engineering Lead on capital projects from modifications to greenfield developments.
• Drive project execution through planning, detailed design, procurement support, commissioning, qualification, and startup.
• Collaborate with process, validation, quality, automation, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Travel approximately 25%.
