Job summary

KLA is seeking a mid-career mechanical design engineer to sustain RAPID legacy systems, focusing on obsolescence management and design-to-manufacture handoff. You will work on opto-mechanical modules, precision mechanisms, and electronic packaging while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and NPI teams.

The role requires strong CAD skills, experience in FEA, thermal and CFD analyses, and vendor interaction to ensure successful design transfers and high lithography yield systems.

Qualifications

• Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree with related work experience as stated in the job posting.
• Experience with sustaining design programs and manufacturability considerations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a concurrent environment.

Responsibilities

• Sustain design for RAPID legacy systems including opto-mechanical modules and precision mechanisms.
• Perform feasibility studies, FEA, thermal and CFD analyses as part of design reviews.
• Develop and maintain drawings, specifications and design handoff to manufacturing.
• Build relationships with vendors for fabrication and process transfer.
