Job summary

KLA Milpitas is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a team of mechanical or opto-mechanical engineers in developing advanced wafer inspection equipment. This role requires translating system requirements into robust designs and leading cross-functional teams through concept to production.

The successful candidate will drive technical strategies, mentor engineers, and excel in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment within the Surfscan group’s wafer inspection product line.

Qualifications

• BS with 15+ years, MS with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Strong communication and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for commercially successful technology products.
• Direct engineering teams and drive cross-functional execution in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
• Translate system requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and drive decisions.
• Lead opto-mechanical or platform design for large-scale projects.
