Job summary

RTX's Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate seeks Senior Mechanical Engineers to design, develop, document, and sustain complex test environments for Raytheon Missile Defense products in a 100% onsite Tucson, AZ role. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute across the engineering lifecycle from concept through sustainment.

Applicants must have a STEM bachelor's (or advanced degree) with 5+ years in mechanical design, strong 3D CAD (CREO/ProE), GD&T, and the ability to obtain U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or advanced degree with at least 3 years of related work experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in mechanical design or production support.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO / ProE preferred).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical test systems used across advanced environments—vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro‑optical, etc.
• Build and validate test solutions that deliver high accuracy and reliability in demanding production settings.
• Diagnose production issues and recommend design improvements that elevate system performance.
• Support and coach less experienced engineers while contributing to all phases of the test equipment engineering lifecycle, from design to sustainment.
