Job summary

RTX is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers to design, develop, document, and sustain complex test environment systems supporting all Raytheon effector products. The role involves mentoring less experienced engineers across the lifecycle from initial design through sustainment.

This 100% onsite position is in Tucson, AZ, and requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. The department focuses on test equipment engineering across multiple disciplines and environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with five years of relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with at least three years.
• Five years of experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Five years of experience with 3D CAD modeling tools (CREO / ProE).
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience creating mechanical drawings or engineering documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical test systems used across vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro‑optical, etc.
• Build and validate test solutions delivering high accuracy and reliability in production settings
• Diagnose production issues and recommend design improvements that elevate system performance
• Support and coach less experienced engineers while contributing to all phases of the test equipment engineering lifecycle.
