Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer for the Nuclear Power Group to support uprates and turbine retrofit projects. The role involves client interfacing, proposal development, and budgeting, with mentorship for junior staff.

The candidate should have a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, plus 10+ years in nuclear power and ABET-accredited education. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear power uprates or turbine retrofit projects.
• Strong analytical and numerical computation skills.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis for power uprates and turbine retrofit projects.
• Interface with clients and project teams to report status and discuss technical discussions.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff on power plant tasks.
• Review calculations related to heat balances, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant hazards.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction.
