Job summary

HED’s Mechanical Engineering team seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts on high-performance projects. You will own major portions of mechanical design delivery, mentor peers, and represent the firm in client relationships with autonomous, technically rigorous work.

The role emphasizes QAQC, system-level coordination across architectural, structural, and civil teams, and leadership from concept through construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 10+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Revit experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and documentation of complex mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) with minimal oversight.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Review mechanical submittals, RFIs, and substitutions; coordinate responses with the broader team.
• Perform site visits and field verification; generate professional mechanical field reports.
• Guide QAQC reviews and contribute to project-specific mechanical quality plans.
• Oversee setup of Revit models and ensure consistency across views and annotations.
