Job summary

HED is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems across major projects. The role requires autonomy, strong technical execution, and integration with clients and internal teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee Revit models, and guide QAQC while influencing project standards and engineering strategy. Collaboration and clear communication are essential in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• P.E. licensure is required.
• 10+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Revit experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of complex mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) with minimal oversight.
• Validate and approve key calculations and integrate results into design.
• Oversee setup of mechanical Revit models and annotations.
• Resolve system conflicts across architectural, structural, and civil teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and mechanical designers.
• Lead internal and external project meetings presenting concepts and trade-offs.
