Job summary

HED, an integrated architecture and engineering practice in San Francisco, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The role sets the standard for technical execution, QAQC rigor, and interdisciplinary coordination across the firm.

You will own major portions of mechanical project design delivery and mentor cross-functional teams. You will represent the firm in client relationships, guide engineering strategy at the highest level, and contribute to practice-wide standards and design innovation.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 10+ years in the AEC industry.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with Revit and mechanical HVAC design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and documentation of complex mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• Review calculations and integrate results into designs.
• Manage Revit model setup and documentation standards.
• Coordinate across architecture, structure, civil teams to resolve conflicts.
• Lead meetings and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform site visits and generate field reports.
