Job summary

HED's Mechanical Engineering team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-performance mechanical systems across major projects. The role demands autonomy, technical excellence, and mentorship of cross-functional teams, with responsibility for client interactions and engineering strategy.

You will guide QAQC, oversee Revit modeling, and contribute to project proposals and execution from concept through construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 10+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Revit experience required.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work under deadlines.
• Ability to manage complex mechanical design projects and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and documentation of complex mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) with minimal oversight.
• Validate critical calculations and integrate results into system design.
• Oversee Revit model setup, views, sheets, and annotations.
• Coordinate across architectural, structural, and civil teams to resolve conflicts.
• Serve as primary mechanical technical contact on projects; mentor junior staff.
• Support fee development, scoping, and resource planning for mechanical scope.
