Job summary

WSP Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Milwaukee, WI office. The role focuses on designing complex cooling and HVAC systems, including air distribution, chiller plants, and sustainable energy solutions, with REVIT and strong communication skills.

You will work on multi-disciplinary teams, collect site data, analyze conditions, and develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors and building owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis.
• 5-7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior mechanical design experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of building, mechanical and energy codes.
• Interest in renewables and sustainable, high-performing commercial/industrial or mission-critical buildings.
• Experience with building/infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; rehab and new design.
• Ability to learn new techniques, manage multiple tasks, and follow policy.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, technical drawings and reports for project development, design and construction.
• Perform professional mechanical engineering work and inspect site conditions for conformance with rules and permits.
• Incorporate advanced modeling techniques, load calculations, and operating strategies for proper installation of equipment.
• Work under supervision of senior engineers to support a variety of clients.
• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Perform cooling/heating load calculations and design air distribution and hydronic systems.
• Schedule and select major equipment; perform construction administration tasks with oversight.
• Survey existing conditions with oversight; internship experience preferred.
