Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Milwaukee, WI office. You will design complex cooling and HVAC systems, including air distribution, chiller plants, and energy solutions, while collaborating with internal teams and clients.

The ideal candidate has REVIT/AutoCAD proficiency, strong communication skills, and a background in building mechanical systems, with a focus on mission critical/data center environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis
• 5–7 years of post-education engineering experience and prior mechanical design experience
• Engineer in Training Certification
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Knowledge of building, mechanical and energy codes
• Interest in innovative design, renewable energies, high performing buildings
• Experience with design software and load calculations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze site data, surveys, blueprints, and drawings for project development and design
• Perform professional mechanical engineering work and assess site conditions for conformance with codes and permits
• Incorporate advanced modeling, load calculations, and design standards for proper installation of systems
• Work under supervision to support multiple clients across projects
• Develop drawing and specification documents for architects, contractors, and owners
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams
• Perform cooling/heating load calculations and design air distribution and hydronic systems
• Schedule major equipment and support construction administration tasks
• Survey existing conditions and contribute to design and rehabilitation projects
