Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Houston, TX or Dallas, TX offices. You will design complex cooling and HVAC systems for mission critical facilities, including air distribution, chiller plants, and energy solutions.

You will lead design efforts, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, review drawings, and coordinate with clients. Travel to project sites is required as needed and mentoring junior engineers is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis.
• 5–7 years of experience designing mechanical systems for high performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace and PipeFlow.

Responsibilities

• Independently support the project team during design and construction stages of projects.
• Design air distribution, hydronic and automated temperature controls systems.
• Integrate complex mechanical engineering requirements into facility designs.
• Develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams and vendors.
