Job summary

CRB is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC systems and mechanical utilities for new buildings and renovations. The role requires coordinating with internal/external teams, producing load calculations, energy modeling, and design reports across project lifecycle stages.

The successful candidate will have an ABET-accredited degree, 5+ years of AEC experience, PE registration, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM tools.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering for AEC firms.
• Professional Engineer registration in good standing.
• Experience with HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems design.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical systems of intermediate complexity in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines.
• Manages multiple complex tasks and directs the work of others.
• Works with architects, engineers, designers, and clients to ensure coordinated, constructible designs.
• Develops construction drawings, specifications, reports and design documentation for projects of intermediate complexity.
• Supports construction activities including RFI responses, submittal reviews and progress reporting.
• Plans and manages project mechanical design budgets for intermediate complexity projects.
• Mentors less experienced Mechanical Engineers and/or Designers.
• Leads design programming and master planning with support from Design Lead or Senior Engineer.
