Job summary

Delta ModTech in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to transform customer requirements into production-ready designs for custom web converting, coating, and automation systems.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive complex mechanical design work from concept through implementation, and deliver innovative solutions with a focus on quality, timeliness, and collaboration, including on-site execution and customer interaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical design or automation design experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical work, mentoring engineers, coordinating design teams, or owning major design packages.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent knowledge.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical engineering work with minimal oversight and guide 1-5 engineers when needed.
• Design high-speed web handling systems including rollers, die cutters, and tension control components.
• Create machine layouts, assemblies, part drawings, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to refine scope and concepts.
• Lead internal and external design reviews and on-site validation.
• Drive project leadership including scope, resources, and schedules to meet objectives.
