Mission Design & Automation in Holland, MI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of custom automated equipment from concept through installation. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive projects to on-time, within-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of experience designing automation machinery systems.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with analytical thinking and data-driven decisions.
• Proven experience leading engineering projects from concept through production; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, development, and documentation of custom automated equipment from concept through startup.
• Develop reliable, cost-effective mechanical solutions meeting specs and standards.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers through guidance and reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success within scope and budget.
• Review designs for manufacturability, quality, and compliance; manage schedules and priorities.
