Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and building utility design for federal and defense-related projects. You will develop conceptual designs, load calculations, and system philosophies, ensuring compliance and integration across disciplines.

You will use Revit, Navisworks, and energy modeling tools to drive the design, coordinate with teams, review submittals, and support startup activities. A PE license and U.S. citizenship are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• At least 5 years of relevant HVAC/Mechanical design experience for building projects (Federal DoD/Defense contractor preferred).
• Experience with Revit in a multi-discipline environment.
• United States Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and basis of design level design approaches for HVAC and plant utilities.
• Develop mechanical/utility equipment and construction specifications; perform load calculations and airflow diagrams.
• Coordinate with Revit designers; review submittals and RFIs; assist startup of systems.
• Travel as required for client development and project implementation.
