Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Mechanical engineer with a PE license to join our HVAC/building services team. You will develop design approaches, specify plant utility systems, and prepare construction documents and equipment plans.

You will perform load calculations, contribute to BMS philosophy, review submittals, and guide Revit designers on multi-discipline projects. The role supports hybrid work, occasional travel, and advancing critical infrastructure for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering required.
• PE license required; 5+ years HVAC/building design experience.
• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of energy modeling software and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and basis of design level design approaches and documentation.
• Develop HVAC and plant utility systems philosophies and equipment plans.
• Perform load calculations and energy modeling; create ductwork and piping layouts.
• Develop BMS control philosophy and sequence of operations.
• Support construction with submittals, RFIs, and field visits; supervise Revit designers.
• Manage mechanical utilities scope within budgets and schedules; travel as needed.
