Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a Full-Time General Engineer (GS-0801-12) for Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. The role focuses on professional mechanical engineering, HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression design, reviews, and construction submittals.

Projects include scoping, estimating, and negotiating HVAC and control system work. Ideal candidates have experience designing, reviewing, and commissioning HVAC and fire suppression systems, with knowledge of direct digital controls and codes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer licensure desired but not required.
• Knowledge of direct digital controls and industrial control systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with UFCs, ASHRAE and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs O&M engineering involving design and construction of infrastructure facilities.
• Manages projects for new construction, renovations and improvements to facilities.
• Plans, programs, budgets, and executes project requirements.
• Coordinates with engineers, architects and contracting officers for project success.
• Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental rules.
