Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a Building Systems Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for new facilities and upgrades. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams, producing construction documents, specifications, and studies while mentoring staff and ensuring quality outputs.

The role requires in-office presence and a robust understanding of applicable codes, client expectations, and project delivery from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within one year.
• Minimum 5 years of Building Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection codes (IBC, IMC, IPC, IFC, ASHRAE, ASPE).

Responsibilities

• Lead design of building mechanical systems for diverse facilities.
• Coordinate with structural, process, electrical, architectural and civil teams.
• Develop and review drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project staff on multiple projects.
• Visit project sites to gather data and build client relationships.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget, with quality construction documents.
