Job summary

AFRY USA is seeking a Senior Building Systems Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for new facilities and upgrades. The role involves investigations, modeling supervision, and producing drawings, specifications, and reports for multi-discipline projects.

The Senior Engineer will act as Discipline Lead, guiding designers, reviewing construction documents, and coordinating with structural, process, electrical, and civil teams. An in-office presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Building Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection codes and standards (IBC, IMC, IPC, IFC, ASHRAE, ASPE).
• Proficiency with Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer for small and large projects, overseeing quality, budget, and schedule from concept to construction.
• Assist in proposals and marketing materials through scope definitions.
• Establish project scope, budgets, and design approach.
• Meet with clients to support planning and concept development.
• Ensure timely delivery within budget and client expectations.
• Design mechanical building systems and components per AFRY standards and codes.
