Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Largo, Florida is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, analyze, and document hardware for defense systems, from concept through production. You will collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers, support integration, and mentor junior engineers while working onsite.

A DoD security clearance and STEM degree are required, with advanced degrees preferred. The role emphasizes fast-paced problem solving, rigorous GD&T practices, and hands-on hardware

Qualifications

• Experience from concept through production transitions.
• Proven mechanical design, material selection and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Experience with design verification and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of hardware.
• Provide support to production and suppliers during product integration.
• Interface with engineering managers, engineers, designers and analysts to resolve technical challenges.
• Work with limited supervision to meet schedule, cost, and technical goals.
• Participate in reviews and trade studies for sound decisions.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
