Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a seasoned engineer to produce CAD models and blueprints for assembly equipment used in engine product manufacturing. You will ensure designs meet ASME Y14.5 standards and conduct structural analysis using hand methods and finite element models.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced setting, mentor junior engineers and travel up to 10%. A STEM degree and an advanced degree with experience are highly valued, along with DoD security clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• 8 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
• Experience with mechanical design, drafting and engineering review in manufacturing or assembly environments.
• Experience reviewing designs for manufacturability, tolerance stack-ups, fit/function, and assembly sequencing.
• CAD modeling and drafting software experience (NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
• Experience with GD&T and finite element analysis methods.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound CAD models and blueprints for assembly and inspection of engine products.
• Adhere to Assembly Equipment Engineering standards and ASME Y14.5 for quality blueprints.
• Perform structural analyses using classical methods and FEM/FEA with ANSYS Workbench.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor junior engineers in modeling, drafting and analysis techniques.
• Travel up to 10%.
