Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts for a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds, expansions, and retrofits.

You will work with the VP of Engineering and partners to set standards, review designs, and support cost analyses. You will analyze cooling infrastructure, hydraulic systems, and HVAC controls, and review calculations for compliance with IBC/IMC and ASHRAE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• FE exam passed/Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in mission critical or data center mechanical design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Support master planning and concept designs for data center projects.
• Review RFPs for design services and perform bid leveling/scope verification.
• Conduct engineering calculations and ROI analyses with cost estimators.
• Provide owner review of design/construct deliverables and RFIs.
• Assist in commissioning support and on-site troubleshooting when needed.
• Attend design/construction meetings with stakeholders, often virtual.
