Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Towson, MD seeks a Senior Engineer to join the Global Tools & Storage team. You will lead design, prototyping, testing and data analysis for DEWALT cordless power tools, collaborating with product marketing, reliability, and manufacturing teams.

You will own design reviews, stack-ups, and root-cause investigations, driving quality improvements and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years of experience.
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience with DOE and statistics for decision making.
Proficient using CAD tools and data collection.

Responsibilities

Carry out design process meeting quality, performance, schedule, and cost goals.
Hands-on concept development, prototyping, testing, data collection, specs.
Perform advanced stack-ups and system analysis for lifecycle integrity.
Investigate design issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into specs and tests.
Review designs with suppliers and stakeholders; drive design reviews.
Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers to develop a product end-to-end.
Support prototypes and engineering builds for production.
Apply Lean Six-Sigma to maintain and improve quality.
Ensure engineering requirements deliver guaranteed tough products.
