Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 4 for its Denver office. The role involves leading design, analysis, and review tasks for complex equipment and systems, including expertise in FEA with Ansys Mechanical or Creo Simulate.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in engineering or sciences, 8+ years of related experience, and a PE certificate is preferred. Proficiency with 3D design software (PTC Creo) and Mathcad is recommended.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline or sciences from a four-year college or university.
• Minimum of 8 years of job-related experience; PE certificate is preferred.
• FEA experience: minimum 2 years with Ansys Mechanical or Creo Simulate.

Responsibilities

• Performs design development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
• Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews.
• Generates complete design specifications for complex projects.
• May train other engineers on technical issues related to research, design, development, testing and analysis.
• Coordinates with engineering, logistics, finance, and program management to define system specifications.
• Maintains filing systems or databases for tracking project status.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
• Interfaces with internal and external customers from quotation to final design and test activities.
• Conducts site visits and experiments to analyze problems and propose solutions.
• Ensures compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
• Prepares and presents technical papers and conducts engineering studies.
• Supports development of technical proposals and comments on scope of work.
• May organize and supervise a group on cost, schedule, and performance.
