Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for our Englewood, CO office. The engineer will work on planning, design, analysis, and testing of heavy industrial steel structures and foundations, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's in civil/architectural engineering with a structural emphasis and 5+ years of experience, including STAAD.Pro and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• 5+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience in the modeling, analysis, and design of heavy industrial steel structures and foundations.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Working knowledge of industry codes and standards including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
• Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
• Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
• Coordinate with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
• Establish and maintain a filing system or databases for tracking project status.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
• Direct interface with customers from quotation to final design and test activities, reviews and meetings to comply with requirements.
• Conduct site visits, investigations and analyze problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
• Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on scope of work.
