Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer for its Advanced Solutions Group. The candidate may be based at Farmington Hills, MI, or other listed offices, and will lead multi-disciplinary machine design projects in a dynamic environment.

The role requires 15+ years of progressive machine design experience, strong GD&T and FEA skills, and proven leadership to guide engineers and drafters from concept through to delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive machine design experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace from ABET-accredited program.
• Leadership experience of engineers and drafters.
• Experience in design for fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engineering work across phases.
• Analyze machine design features and develop solutions.
• Review results for completeness and alignment with objectives.
• Develop and present technical reports, 3D concepts, and calculations.
• Coordinate and review work of others for techniques and approach.
• Define interfaces with structural, controls, and aerodynamics teams.
• Lead design team to produce complete design packages and drawings.
