Ron Sunshine Associates LLC in Boston hires a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for large projects focused on campus energy and central plant systems. The role requires strong experience with HVAC systems, energy models, and survivable peak-load designs.

You will design heating and cooling plants, lead project teams across offices in Greater Boston, NH, and Maine, and drive decarbonization efforts while coordinating with owners, utilities, and contractors.

Formación

• BS in mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years designing HVAC systems for institutional and commercial buildings.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Central plant and hydronic system design or energy modeling/LCC.
• Proficient in energy modeling/load calculation tools (IES VE, TRACE, HAP, etc.).
• PE license preferred.
• Strong client presentation and cross-discipline coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsabilidades

• Run mechanical design from feasibility studies through construction administration.
• Design heating/cooling plants and distribution systems (hot water, steam, chilled water, heat pumps).
• Design air-side systems including air handling with energy recovery and tight humidity control.
• Build and check load calculations and energy models; compare options by life-cycle cost.
• Write control sequences and set building automation strategy.
• Lead decarbonization and electrification studies for campuses and institutions.
• Carry mechanical scope on projects pursuing LEED/Passive House/Living Building or WELL.
• Review work of engineers and designers; develop them.
