Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design on major projects in our New England practice. You will direct central plant, hydronic, and energy modeling efforts, guiding teams to deliver reliable, efficient HVAC solutions for institutions and campuses.

The role requires strong project leadership, client-facing collaboration, and expertise in energy analysis. Hybrid work is available across Greater Boston and nearby offices, with site travel as needed.

Qualifications

BS in mechanical engineering (required).
7+ years designing HVAC systems for institutional/commercial buildings.
Experience leading project teams and coordinating across disciplines.
Depth in central plant/hydronic system design or building energy modeling.
PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Run mechanical design from feasibility through construction administration.
Design heating/cooling plants, distribution systems, and energy-efficient options.
Design air-side systems, including energy-efficient AHUs and humidity control.
Build and review load calculations and whole-building energy models.
Write control sequences and set building automation strategy.
Lead decarbonization studies and coordinate with architects, owners, and contractors.
