Job summary

Apptronik in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Battery and Docking Station to lead the mechanical design and integration of the battery system and autonomous docking for Apollo. You will deliver robust, manufacturable battery packs and docking interfaces that enable reliable charging and long-term field performance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing precision mechanical assemblies (CAD NX or equivalent).
• Experience with battery enclosures, charging interfaces, or power packaging is preferred.
• Proficiency in thermal and structural validation for battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and integration of battery packs, enclosures, mounting systems, and interfaces.
• Design autonomous docking stations, charging interfaces, alignment mechanisms, and related assemblies.
• Define mechanical architectures for battery retention, thermal interfaces, seals, and load paths.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Controls, Systems, Firmware, and Software teams for seamless integration.
• Perform structural, thermal and tolerance analyses; support prototype testing and design iterations.
• Build and evaluate prototypes through lab and field testing for durability and reliability.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to optimize for production, cost, and serviceability.
