Job summary

Delart is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to architect lightweight, swappable battery systems for robotics and consumer electronics. You will lead safety-focused design, validation, and integration across mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams.

You will guide testing, perform DOE-driven validation, and coordinate with contract manufacturers to enable high-volume production. A strong background in CAD, thermal management, and FEA is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience developing lightweight, custom battery modules and mechanical packaging for electrical systems.
• Strong background in battery and electronics thermal management strategies.
• DOE and validation testing experience.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX) and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Architect, engineer, and optimize lightweight battery systems with emphasis on safety and reliability for robotic applications.
• Lead design, validation, performance, endurance, and life cycle testing of subsystems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through root-cause investigations and design iteration.
• Guide contract manufacturers for high-volume production transitions.
• Collaborate with reliability, electrical, and firmware teams for integration.
• Develop test fixtures, write protocols, execute tests, and analyze data.
• Design docking/interface components and support subsystems as needed.
• Oversee prototyping and manufacturing process choices for enclosures.
• Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T, and run FEA simulations.
