Job summary

Arc is seeking a Senior Battery Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of our battery packs, from concept through production, for a fast-moving marine electrification program. You will lead pack architecture, perform structural and thermal analyses, and collaborate with electrical engineers on cell selection, interconnects, and BMS integration, while hands-on prototyping and sea trials.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in mechanical engineering with battery pack/module design.
• Strong structural and thermal fundamentals with hands-on sizing.
• Experience with high voltage battery systems and safety.
• Collaborating with electrical engineers on busbars and BMS integration.
• Proficient in NX CAD and ability to create detailed drawings (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Lead battery pack mechanical design across product lines to pack architecture and packaging.
• Perform structural analysis (FEA, hand calcs) against loads on water.
• Design pack thermal management systems and validate with data.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on cell selection, interconnects, BMS integration.
• Package packs into hull envelopes balancing energy density, mass, safety.
• Build and test prototypes and drive design iterations.
• Support sea trials and certify systems in the field.
• Interface with suppliers and support production ramp.
