Job summary

Voyager Technologies in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Engineer V – M&P for Controllable Solid Propulsion to evaluate materials, support manufacturing, and ensure compliance for extreme environments. The role is remote with reporting to the Analysis and M&P Manager.

The candidate will lead projects, apply advanced ceramics and refractory metals knowledge, and contribute to research and innovation across propulsion systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering or related field with 10-15 years of experience OR Master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering with 8-13 years of experience.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-1546 / -1547, SMC-S-009 / -010, and NASA-STD-6016.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Effective communication of technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop materials for solid rocket motor propulsion systems.
• Support manufacturing and compliance efforts for propulsion programs.
• Lead research projects and optimize material selection for challenging applications.
• Author and contribute to compliance documentation such as PMP/PMAP, MUA/MUIL, and failure analysis reports.
• Provide expert consultation and technical leadership to project teams.
• Collaborate within the Analysis and M&P Manager structure in the Strategic Systems division.
