Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Chief Engineer for Strategic Systems to lead end-to-end propulsion programs, overseeing cross-functional teams from design to qualification. The role requires directing complex systems engineering efforts, ensuring producibility, and aligning execution with budget and schedule.

The position reports to the Director of Engineering and is based in Reno, NV with multiple U.S. site options; remote work may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
• 15 years of engineering experience with 5+ years in technical leadership for solid rocket motors (SRMs).
• Experience directing end-to-end lifecycle of complex propulsion programs.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams through design reviews and milestones.
• Strong cost control, scheduling discipline, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical lifecycle of SRM programs, ensuring producibility and compliance within budget and schedule.
• Direct large multidisciplinary teams through design reviews and qualification milestones.
• Maintain rigorous focus on critical path and proactive resource/deconfliction management.
• Establish lean technical baselines and challenging budgets while exploring alternative solutions.
• Serve as primary technical spokesperson, manage internal/external stakeholders, and align with customer scope.
