Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Designer to support Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on creating and validating mechanical designs, MBD, and GD&T within a high-stakes environment.

You will guide cross-functional teams, perform tolerance analyses, and ensure producibility while maintaining compliance with NNSA and industry standards. Requires a DoD/NNSA-suitable clearance and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related field plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to federal nature of the work.
• Must obtain/maintain government clearance if needed.
• Proven experience with Creo 3D CAD, PDMLink PLM, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Guide teams through design iterations to address engineering defects.
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems with ingenuity and independence.
• Mentor junior staff on models-based definition and GD&T.
